Be a Ranger

Å være en Lofoten Ranger er å ha kunnskap
om ferdsel i naturen, og samtidig dele informasjon
om hvordan vi kan ta bedre vare på den.
Et lite bidrag som kan bety mye.

Be a part of the community

Being a Lofoten Ranger means following the rules and norms for hiking and camping in nature - and at the same time spread the word about them. The goal is consciousness, and it starts with you. Read about The Public Right of Access, The Norwegian Mountain Code and The Lofoten Code of Conduct, and bring this knowledge with you out in the nature. Join the team - be a Ranger.

How to act as a Ranger

Care. We know that a lot of people do care; and here is a long-awaited and unimposing offer for everyone with an interest in taking care of nature.
Take part of the responsibility. We, Lofoten Rangers, unite behind “Everyone’s right, everyone’s responsibility”. Some voluntary work, some awareness. It demands that you are interested in being the best version of yourself, and that you have the guts to talk to the fellow hikers who throws their chocolate paper in the nature without thinking through the consequences.
Ask questions. It’s easy to become a sheep in uncultivated areas. The Public Right of Access still applies to everyone. If you dare, ask questions about camping in gardens and littering.
Share. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook and use #lofotenrangers on your pictures. Then you will contribute that even more people find us.
Be proud. This is not a revolution. We are not changing the world tomorrow, but we believe in you and me. People meeting people. Be proud of the trash you picked up, and the talk you had with your fellow hiker about how to use our surroundings in a more conscious way.

Join us on this quest for consciousness – be a Ranger.

Would you like this year's coolest buff?

To make it even cooler to be a Ranger, we have put together a package. This consists of a buff and a beautiful postcard. Clear conscious, postcard for dad, and a warming buff. All for the price of two beers.
